I can not believe it is Wednesday already and my spring break is half way over! I loved going on the college visit with my cousin. She really enjoyed herself and it was a fun trip. I just got home today and it was a relaxed day. Now it is time for planning of the rest of the week! I have a few friends I want to see and a goals I want to met. This week is flying by!
I am pretty excited. I am taking my cousin on her first college visit today. She wanted to check out SIU, so of course I had to take her. I went to SIU, I can show her all of the in and outs off the town and the campus. Luckily, it is going to be in the 70's today so it will be nice. She is pretty excited. We drove in last night and now we are waiting to get started. Wish her Luck!
Along with movies, Napping is another hobby that I love. I could literally take a nap every single day if I could! My fiancé always jokes around saying "If you were a princess, you could be sleeping beauty because you LOVE to sleep!" Well, he isn't wrong. I could literally sleep for hours on end and never be tired of sleeping. Napping brings so much joy.
One of my many guilty pleasures is going to the movies. When COVID-19 hit, it took that happiness away from me. Now that the pandemic is slowing and life is going back to "normal", I have been going to movies NONSTOP. Last weekend we saw two movies and today we are going again! We are going to see Lost Island. There is something about going to the movies, getting the extra buttery popcorn, and the XL drink. It brings so much joy.
Hot, cold, iced, cold brew, French press, all different kinds. I love coffee but I have come to realize that I never finish my cup. I can easily drink 2 cups of coffee a day. I know what you are thinking, two cups is nothing; however, when I say cups, I mean the 32 oz ones! Getting the coffee in the morning and coffee in mid-day is my favorite. BUT, I realized I always leave like 3 oz each time I get coffee. Weird, I know. I always wondering "Why am I getting more coffee if I still have a little left?" But, there is something about a fresh coffee and gets me every time.
Today is the last day of teaching before a WHOLE week off! I am beyond excited because of this break. The kiddos need it just as much as I do. I look forward to spending time with family and some positive self-care. I plan on taking two of my days for just self-care. I want to spend time with the pup, shopping, seeing friends, etc. I am counting down the hours!
This week has been rainy! My teaching partner has been out and she has been suck at home. I was able to go visit her yesterday and she was super excited! I am bringing her some flowers and then hopefully this will brighten her day!
I love the support team I have both at school and at home. My team supports me on my worse days and celebrates with me on my great days! This week is full of assessments for the kiddos, which brings a lot of behavioral problems. My school support team has been great! My teaching partner is out so I am also working with a sub. My partner send a gift package of snacks and my dear friend brought me a lot of caffeinated drinks! Just knowing that someone has my back and understands helps a whole lot.
3 more days until spring break... 3 more days until I can sleep in... 3 more days until I can not use my brain and let it rest... 3 more days until I can take a full day of self care... Only 3 more days! I love teaching, don't get me wrong. However, with the pandemic, this year has took a huge toll on my kiddos emotionally, socially, and academically. It is hard! I am giving them my all but I can not wait until 3 days is up to give my all to myself for a week! As a very tired teacher, I am looking forward to this break!
